Taysir Batniji: You Will Find Not

Palestinian artist Taysir Batniji’s work is inextricably tied to the collective history of his homeland and its people, refracted through the lens of his individual experience. Working across various media, he creates pieces imbued with a sense of impermanence and fragility, exploring the boundaries between presence and absence. Based in Paris, Batniji draws on poetic reflection and bitter irony to address the trauma of displacement and the representation of disappearance. With a title drawn from a verse by Mahmoud Darwish, this book documents Batniji’s exhibition at Fondazione AGO and presents two recent bodies of work: Out of the Blue and Remnants.
