Leonard Freed: Worldview

Published by Steidl in 2007, Worldview surveys more than five decades of Leonard Freed’s photographic work. The volume brings together photographs made across Europe, the United States, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, reflecting the breadth of Freed’s career and the range of subjects he engaged throughout his life.

Civil rights demonstrations, religious observances, political events, everyday street life, labor, and family relationships appear alongside one another, revealing Freed’s enduring interest in the ways people navigate social, cultural, and historical circumstances.
