En las aceleradas sociedades occidentales contemporáneas el tiempo es como un animal en vía de extinción. No hay tiempo ni para pensar en el tiempo. El collage -técnica y personaje principal de este proyecto- tiene la particularidad de permitir la coexistencia de temporalidades heterogéneas en un mismo tiempo y espacio. Las planchas de este Atlas de los segundos son móviles y no tienen un orden predeterminado. No hay un índice fijo: lectores y lectoras están invitadas a construir e inventar sus propias condiciones de lectura y a practicar así una forma de montaje o de edición. Este libro-atlas-enciclopedia es el prototipo de una máquina para explorar el tiempo, desfamiliarizarnos de él, desfuturizar nuestras angustias y reinventar el porvenir.
El libro de la artista Alma Sarmiento fue ganador de la Beca para proyectos editoriales independientes en Artes Plásticas del 45 Salón Nacional de Artistas.

In the accelerated contemporary Western societies, time is like an endangered animal. There is no time to even think about time. The collage - technique and main character of this project - has the particularity of allowing the coexistence of heterogeneous temporalities in the same time and space. The plates of this Atlas of the seconds are mobile and do not have a predetermined order. There is no fixed index: readers are invited to build and invent their own reading conditions and thus practice a form of editing or editing. This book-atlas-encyclopedia is the prototype of a machine to explore time, become familiar with it, defuturize our anguish and reinvent the future.
The book by the artist Alma Sarmiento was the winner of the Scholarship for independent publishing projects in Plastic Arts of the 45th National Artists' Salon.
