Feng Li: PIG

Beginning with the pink snout on the cover, Feng Li’s photobook “Pig” is dedicated to the pig companion with whom the Chinese artist shares his life and household. Rescued from certain death, the pig (whose name is not revealed throughout the book) is seen lounging around the house, at times earning bemused looks from Feng Li’s other pets (cats and a parrot), being scolded, cuddled, carried and cared for. Without regard to chronological order, Feng Li chronicles his life with the pig like a careful photo diary, embracing the inevitable humor. At the back, a written note reads: “To me, PIG means… Wisdom, Kindness, Happiness, Contentment.”
