A contact sheet is also a travel diary, a recount, a set of memories, moments that changed you, what inspires you: garbage and signs, landscapes and buildings, messages on walls with graffiti, great light, mistakes, and successes, the people you don’t want to forget, the places you want to remember.
The photographs in Contact Sheet were shot on black and white film by Oswaldo García over the course of a week in January 2018. The journey began in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, and meandered through streets, subway stations, parks, and other corners of the city, captured with a Hasselblad 500c. They were later printed using risograph in April 2022 in Cali, Colombia.
