Parallax is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight. In this book, Ari Marcopoulos points out two different approaches that he has taken in photography. The horizontal ‘No Home’ is edited from images produced over a period of eight years, leading to a non-linear narrative of displacement. By contrast, the vertical orientation of ‘Market Place’ offers a study of physicality and motion in a city park, performed over a series of days. The two books come together in a box.
